Composition ideas have been percolating in my head for quite some time now… and none of the paintings I’ve been imagining have made it on paper yet. Some of the ideas just feel fairly complicated that I have put a pause on executing them. I was supposed to work on one of these images this weekend… but somehow I took a detour and decided to just go and do something pretty instead.
“Pose” is a simple composition. There isn’t anything in it that is challenging in terms of art execution. It is simply pretty. And sometimes, that is all right to do. Not every single thing I draw or create artistically has to be super complicated and challenging. Having a relaxing weekend drawing is just plain alright. As for the rest of my grinds, they are coming along. I worked on a color pencil project for two weeks. I was finally able to wrap it this week. I wasn’t too keen on the results. I was experimenting on layering watercolor pencils with a fixative. My expectations were higher than the result. The end product was… meh. But hey… it wasn’t a bad learning experience.
Anyways, that is it for me this week folks.
