Sketchbook Sunday 03.20.2022

March 20, 2022

This week’s updates are few. It looks like I didn’t do a whole lot this week, but the opposite is actually true. I got to spend a lot of time on my Lundahl study, which is refreshing given the fact that I constantly feel like I don’t do enough art as it is. I wish I can have more time/iterate on art projects quicker. But alas, we artists do have to pay attention to other parts of our lives. I also got to work on two illustrations this week that are more than my typical thirty-minute speed paints. That was also fun.

“Nathan Drake and I” is a sketch zone speed painting I did earlier this week. The prompt for the artwork is for us to draw our favorite video game character along with our self-portrait. I wouldn’t really peg Nathan Drake as my all-time favorite. I do have a sweet spot for Lara Croft… as well as for a few other video game characters. But he was the first one to come to my mind… so I went with instinct. The other illustration I got to work on this week is “Knight.” It’s my entry for this month’s Character Design Challenge. For the CD Challenge being a pay-to-win contest, I’m slightly proud of myself for still entering pieces, lol. It does make me feel a little cuckoo for doing the CD Challenge honestly, but I could at least add all my entries into my ever-growing portfolio… so it’s not a complete loss per se.

Anyways… that is all for me this week folks. Sayonara!

  • Advertisements Go Here

I don't like ads. I don't think anyone likes ads. But they do play a pivotal role in our lives. In my case, ads help pay the bills. So unfortunately, advertisements will go here. The good news is that I have not set up advertisements for this website yet. Yay! But if you do want to help me out in the smallest of ways, then head over to my YouTube Channel and subscribe. Not only will you be helping me out, you will also learn a thing or two about my art! Hooray for learning!
