It’s so nice to be back in rhythm. I missed last week’s update due to a hectic work schedule. Since we are about to head into the busy winter holiday season, I wouldn’t be surprised if I missed a few more Sunday updates. I’ll try not to. The good news though is that I was still as busy as ever trying to keep up with a plethora of art projects;
“Old and Tough” looks like it would be an interesting character study to develop. I love the guy’s haggard expression… and painting wrinkles are both fun to do… and very challenging. That sketch is an artwork I’m tagging to explore later on. “Hybrid Creature” also might be an interesting character study to do… but I’m not nowhere near as inclined to pursue that compare to “Old and Tough.” “Mushroom Behemoth” and “Empty Hospital” would make for interesting compositions. Whether or not I pursue it, I’m not sure yet.
As for longer digital paintings, “Aristocratic Robot” and “Fall” are probably my favorites. Elemont from Ramin’s Sketch Zone mentioned I need to practice grayscale values more. “Aristocratic Robot” is my attempt at it… and I have to say, I don’t like the results much. Neither am I comfortable with the workflow. I still prefer doing my color approach and just checking my grayscale value through a black color layer. “Aristocratic Robot” can probably be developed more into color, though I’m inclined to let it be and see what else I can rock for future projects/old projects. As for “Fall…” well, I don’t have much to say about it aside from the fact that I love the non-descript background… and I love the colors. It’s gorgeous, simply put.
Anyways, I’m glad to see you once again folks. I’ll check you guys later.
