I had fun with some of my sketches and speed paints this week. I decided to let go of all my grinds this week and focus solely on short terms works. The most notable speed paint I did all week is, of course, the featured image of the week. It’s a self-portrait I did for International Self-Portrait day last Nov 1… though I did mine a day late, lol.
It was a fairly fast endeavor. It only took me forty minutes or so to develop the self-portrait. Working from an image obviously helped a lot. I was initially trying to do it with a “mirror” approach. I had my camera in selfie mode on and was using my phone’s camera like a mirror… but in the end, I just decided to take the photo. It’s hard to do a self-portrait since I have a tendency to move a lot.
“Interdimensional Tourist” was also a very cool sketch. I rarely take the whole thirty minutes when I do my daily spit paint sketch. There’s never enough time during my lunch. But I found myself with extra free time during work this week that I decided to do a whole thirty-minute sketch for DSP. I clearly ran out of time, but what I got down during that time is freaking sweet. “Valkyrie” is my favorite speed paint of the week though. The painting is based on a photo of a friend. She was wearing a valkyrie costume for Halloween.
Anyways… that is all for my art adventures this week. What was your art adventure this week?
