Why? Why oh why oh why? Seriously I don’t know what I was thinking when I made this picture back in 2010;
In hindsight, it’s actually not that bad rendering wise. How I decided where the main light source will be coming from is actually brilliant. The lighting scheme created form shadows on the main character that the highlights define her form well. Her face is nicely rendered, but those hands and feet are so ghastly! OMG! I feel like showing that ghastly rendering is a crime, lol. And the hair! You can tell I’m a noob because I’m trying to render each and every strand. Please don’t do that when you paint hair. You never do that.
The big takeaway lesson out of all this? Never stop doing art. You can tell that I was on hiatus from art when I did this piece cause even though it has great strengths, its’ weak points severely bring the quality of the image down. Never stop doing art!
