So last week I posted a painting I did for Painting with a Twist. In that article, I stated that I did about three or so paintings for an internal contest for the company. Here is one of the three I made back in 2014;
This painting is immensely simple, and out of the three or four I made is probably the easiest to teach in a Painting with a Twist class. It’s absolutely no Bob Ross in look, though in my defense I was relegated to using one brush for the most part. A lot of textures that Bob Ross would have created through different brushes I wasn’t able to employ in this painting.
Since Painting with a Twist classes are typically designed as entertainment rather than an actual education course, I couldn’t really push the boundaries of the painting. Maybe someday I can do a proper landscape painting. If I ever do, I’ll probably skip Bob Ross and go straight to an Albert Bierstadt style painting. That is super advance for sure, but no better way to do an art study than to try and mimic a master in painting.
