Today’s yesterday spin is a look back at an artwork that is actually already part of my portfolio;

a speed painting
Between a Rock and a Hard Place

Just like I mentioned in the image description, I absolutely love this speed painting. What makes this image really evocative is the fact that I decided to keep the background simple. With that simple greenish layer, the overall silhouette of the foreground shapes really comes through. There are two triangular shapes all leading the eyes into the central focus of the image; a lonely robot tasked with an immensely difficult job. Putting the central character in the shadow also enhanced the mystery of the image, and the overall lighting scheme is immensely balanced.

Speed paintings are tough to do. Trying to come up with a cohesive image in such a short amount of time is an arduous task… coming up with a cohesive image that is well-balanced and LOOKS GOOD is a diamond-in-the-rough. This is certainly one of those gems for me.

    I don't like ads. I don't think anyone likes ads. But they do play a pivotal role in our lives. In my case, ads help pay the bills. So unfortunately, advertisements will go here. The good news is that I have not set up advertisements for this website yet. Yay! But if you do want to help me out in the smallest of ways, then head over to my YouTube Channel and subscribe. Not only will you be helping me out, you will also learn a thing or two about my art! Hooray for learning!
